Here are my 2017 e-learning forecasts. Includes LMS, mobile, AR and VR content.
With the continued advanced of technology, three new trends will play a huge role in e-learning in 2013. These trends are tied to Augmented Reality, tablets and Digital textbooks. But there are two areas I am worried about – that may impact us – social learning and 3D.
E-Learning vendors, specifically content authoring tools and LMSs have failed to listen to end users when it comes time for emerging technology and its incorporation within their products. A survey conducted by E-Learning 24/7, is speaking loud and clear, so will e-learning vendors finally listen?
Technological advancements such as the Kinect device, touch free gesturing will enable the next evolution of mobile learning to happen. But it won’t be happening with smart phones. It will be with tablets.
Augmented Reality has the power to change m-learning as we know it. With information overlays, graphics, audio, live communication all being seen in real time on your smartphone, the learning sky has never looked brighter.
