  1. I absolutely agree with your comment on gamification. Educational games have their place and their appropriate audience. And frankly, even the games aimed for K-6 are not that great. Sometimes it’s easy to get sucked up into the hype of a new authoring tool, and I think this is what’s happening with gamification. Great post!

  2. I like what you say about video. We are blessed with full video production capabllity and produce via XDCAM or DVCAM. If your video people are competent video clips eliminate dozens of slides in the course and is more engaging than the static image c/w verbatim text and VO model. We use ToolBook as our Authoring tool and utilize its media timing event function to control navigation and bring up text or still images required to supplement the video clips.
